Hey there! I'm Alex. I'm a Wisconsin native, currently living in Chicago.
I'm a freelance storyteller -- often working on documentaries, one of my passions. I went to school for screenwriting & producing, but shortly after graduating I had a freak accident & concussion.
It left me temporarily unable to read and I lost a couple memories.
But I adapted.
And I experienced something known as post-traumatic growth.
I had gained a heightened EQ, and an intuition + knack for writing with pictures (video editing). So, I picked up a job editing a music video campaign for Denzel Washington's wife and the United Nations, and began to specialize in editing.
Since then I've served as a story consultant on six feature length documentaries. Recently, my feature doc, Futures Past, premiered at Chicago int. film festival (2016).
I've done work for agencies including Plan B, Porter Novelli, and Lebron James' Spring Hill Entertainment; and with brands such as Quizno's, McDonald's, Keiser, and Malibu Rum; and Branded Entertainment projects that have been released on websites such as Refinery29, The Bleacher Report, and Consequence of Sound.
My current obsession is the birth of the new art form of virtual reality -- and it's exciting & limitless potential.
I am proud and grateful to be a graduate of DePaul University’s Digital Cinema program which is the foundation of my passion for storytelling.
